About the job

The Business Analyst/Project Coordinator is responsible for defining and coordinating work for the software development team. The BA/PC will seek to define requirements clearly and formally within the system up front, create and maintain thorough and detailed documentation, confirm requirements are met in integration and regression testing, and ultimately contribute to software development team effectiveness through ensuring accuracy and consistency in development delivery. The BA/PC must be customer service focused and evangelize as well as model an internal and external customer service focus within the IT department. The ideal candidate is an exceptionally organized, an excellent communicator in both verbal and written formats, and methodical professional in both hard and soft skills.


  • Defines and documents business and functional requirements for software development
  • Liaises with internal customers to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives
  • Interviews business stakeholders to accurately elicit functional requirements, listening carefully to deeply understand requests, and digs past what is being requested to determine the underlying problem that needs to be addressed, in a highly respectful manner
  • Communicates functional requirements to the software development team, using proper tools in proper contexts, such as use cases, acceptance criteria, ticket fields, verbal communication, analogies, screenshots, diagrams, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Adheres to, champions, and contributes towards the process and structure of proper ticket grooming and pursuit of accuracy, thoroughness, and consistency in defined requirements
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports, in a manner communicable to technical and business audiences
  • Identifies risks and opportunities, reporting on the same, suggesting and potentially implementing action plans accordingly
  • Monitors project progress, tracking, logging, and reporting on issues and impediments that arise, and working with the team to remove impediments
  • Assists in the execution of assigned projects
  • Assists in testing applications through the execution of test cases and test plans
  • Overall champions exceptional quality in corporate software
  • Pursues Kaizen in many forms including the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and overall operational success
  • Stays current on evolving technologies and best practices
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience in an enterprise environment preferred, especially involving customer service, process development, project management, and/or business analysis
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, especially in a technical or business discipline
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office applications
  • JIRA experience a plus

Logistical Requirements:
